The Honor Fellow Award is the highest recognition bestowed by WRPA. The individual selected must be equal in mind, character and professionalism to those who have preceded him or her and must set an example for those who will follow.
This person must have a minimum of 10 years of dedicated professional parks and recreation related service and achievement and must have been a member of WRPA for at least the past 10 years. The candidate must have demonstrated significant contributions to WRPA.
Characteristics desired of nominee:
- Broad range of experience and progressive levels of responsibility
- Contributions to WRPA have affected philosophy and practices
- Desirable leadership qualities
- Appointed and elected positions are reflective of a worthy honoree
- Important articles, speeches, research, and publications
- Opinion of others, including peers
- Letters of recommendation
Application requirements:
- Only WRPA members are eligible to nominate qualified candidates. Membership will be verified and nominations by non-members will be disqualified.
- Each award nomination must be accompanied by a clearly and completely filled out nomination cover sheet and nomination questionnaire.
- Professional award nominations must include no more than 3 letters of recommendation. Please note maximum page requirement. Exceeding maximum page requirements may be cause for rejection.
Nominations are eligible for only one category.
No fee for professional awards.
Nominations must include a photo or electronic artwork for program or presentation purposes. (tif, jpeg or pdf are preffered)
